Creekside craft group are making good use of the enforced time at home during the second lockdown, meeting via Zoom to learn new skills. We have nine very keen members
Given a list of six different skills it was a unanimous decision that they wanted to learn how to make a cobweb scarf.
Very soft Merino wool was purchased and instructions circulated, which included the requirement of two 1.8cm long pieces of bubble wrap even this didn’t didn’t daunt anyone.
After careful placement of the wool which took nearly an hour and them spraying with warm soapy and ‘agitating’ the wool in circular movements, slowly the wool began to felt and an amazingly soft and warm scarves were made.
Lots of fun and chat during the process, a very enjoyable project. Everyone is now trying to perfect their art. Sorry all you ladies of I don’t think there will be one for each of you at Christmas.
Everyone is keen to learn more about felting and a wet flat felting afternoon was arranged a felt suitable for making all sorts of items is now a skill that is moving forward.
It is great fun, if anyone wants to join in contact Ann or Linda and they will give you the details.
